Dutch skating phenomenon Jutta Leerdam (25) has to look for a new employer. Jumbo-Visma has surprisingly decided not to renew the contract of the multiple world champion.

“We have made Jutta a very nice offer to continue the collaboration,” says commercial director and skating legend Sven Kramer. “We have a clear vision about how to implement this collaboration. We did not sense the conviction and commitment from Jutta that we believe is necessary to continue successfully together. We then decided last week to stop the discussions and end the collaboration.”

The Dutch skating team Jumbo-Visma has been doing a major cleaning in recent months, with the aim of achieving new international successes in the coming years. Coach Jac Orie’s team also said goodbye to world champions Thomas Krol, Kai Verbij and Antoinette Rijpma-de Jon. On the other hand, there was the arrival of young talent Isabel Grevelt and Sanne in ‘t Hof and our compatriot Mathias Vosté. “We have made clear choices in the past period,” Kramer explains. “Many skaters have said goodbye. We are going to rebuild and choose a young group of athletes who, based on a shared ambition, will work hard over the next two years towards the Milan Olympic Games in 2026.”
