The 2024 Snooker World Championship Qualifying Tournament in Sheffield, England concluded on the seventh day with an impressive performance from Chinese players. Zhou Yuelong and Yuan Sijun both secured victories, increasing the number of Chinese players advancing to the final round to four.

In the third round of the tournament, seven Chinese players competed, with Zhou Yuelong and Yuan Sijun emerging victorious. Zhou Yuelong showcased his talent by defeating his opponent James Cahill with a flawless 10-0 victory. Yuan Sijun faced a tough challenge against Michael White but eventually overcame the odds with a 10-8 win in the second stage.

Joining the duo in the final round are Lu Haotian and He Guoqiang, who had already secured their spots. This marks a strong presence from Chinese players in the tournament.

In the upcoming matches, more Chinese players such as Cao Yupeng, Ma Hailong, Jiang Jun, Pang Junxu, and Hong Kong star Marco Fu will compete for a spot in the final round. Exciting matchups, including a “Chinese Derby” between Cao Yupeng and Ma Hailong, are expected to unfold.

With the tournament featuring a total of 24 Chinese players, the competition is heating up as players strive to secure a spot in the main draw. The ultimate goal for the participants is to advance to the World Championship and face the top seeded players in a best-of-19 game system.
