Sonego: “Cairo called me, I’d like to train with Toro in Philadelphia”

Lorenzo Sonego calls, Torino responds. Waiting for a double match, at Filadelfia and at Stampa Sporting. A few days ago the blue tennis player, ‘jealous’ of his colleague Roberto Bautista Agut, sponsored by Villareal, the football team in which he played as a boy, asked himself: “What do I have to do to be sponsored by Toro?”. As is well known, Lorenzo also has a past as a footballer, up to 13 he played in the youth teams of his favorite team. The title that appeared on the La Stampa website stirred something up, and the expected message arrived from Urbano Cairo. “No, the president did not call me, but wrote to me,” Sonego explained after the match lost against Zverev in Monte Carlo. “I would love to meet him, maybe be invited to Philadelphia for a training session, I would like to be able to follow the team’s fate more closely.” Turin for the next five years will be the home of the ATP Finals, and in November also of two groups and a quarter-final of the Davis Cup, the link between the two sports is written in things.
