VIGEVANO
Stefano Gherardi, veteran-1 from Corteolona (Lnc card) dominates the most awaited test of the first stage of the Spiga d’Oro, the one reserved for veterans and youth groups, with a coup at the last kilometer that lined up the whole platoon. His victory at the finish line in via Nivara in Vigevano is peremptory after a lively race from the very first rides. Behind him the Oltre Padano Giorgio Rapaccioli (Stocchetti), second overall in the race and first of the veterans in the 1st series.
The first race of the day was crowded with the supergentlemen from Pavia on the podium of the best: Pietro Luliri (Ciclismo Pavia) first among the super-B of the 2nd series; Dario Cornaglia (Casoratese) winner among the super-B of the 1st series; and then Pietro Villa (Brocchetta Pavia) ruler among the super-B of the 1st series; second finally Claudio Spolaor (Varxi) among the super-A of the 2nd series and Emanuele (Cycling Garlasco) among the super-A of the 1st series. Among the gentlemen-2 of the 2nd series, place of honor for Carlo Grazioli of the Brazzo Certosa. Full success for Nicola Mancusi (Croce Verde Pavese) among the veterans-1 of the 2nd series. 180 riders from 52 companies at the start in Vigevano with Gc Varzi first in the team classification; the race was organized by Gca Garlasco.
The time trial in Oltrepo
The first of the two hillclimb tests organized by Pedale Godiaschese took place in Godiasco. On the ascents of Montalfeo and Alta Collina (5 km to be covered over two laps), the absolute winner is the specialist Alberto Merli from Varzi (senior who wears the Godiaschese Pedal jacket); at 13 ”24 late the other Oltrepadano Fabrizio Pellizzoni, veteran-2 of the Staffora Triathlon; then to complete the podium the senior-2 Claudio Gandini of Gc Varzi; 44 time-climbing specialists in the race. –
