TRIESTE. The high jump champion Alessandro Talotti, who had been struggling with a tumor for some time, died this morning in Trieste at the age of 40. Talotti boasts a record of 2.30 meters outdoors and 2.32 meters indoors: he was married to Silvia Stibilj, former Italian roller skater, absolute world champion in charge in the discipline of solo dance.

During his career Talotti had participated in the Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Olympics. In 2002 he had obtained the fourth place at the European Championships.

The family had recently expanded with the arrival of little Elio, born on October 30th. The memory of Silvia Stibilj reported by the Trieste press online is moving: «Goodnight my Angel! Thank you for all the spectacular things we have experienced together … thank you for the greatest gift you left me … thank you for just being yourself! I love you now and forever ».
