St. Louis Cardinals sign Gold Glove winner Brandon Crawford

The St. Louis Cardinals have made a significant move to bolster their infield depth by reaching an agreement with experienced shortstop Brandon Crawford for the 2024 season. Crawford, who spent 13 seasons with the San Francisco Giants, is determined to redeem himself after a disappointing 2023 season.

Crawford is a decorated player, having won 4 Gold Gloves, a Silver Slugger, and making 3 All-Star Game appearances. He also has two World Series rings to his name. Throughout his MLB career, Crawford has posted solid offensive numbers with a batting line of .250/.319/.396, including 290 doubles, 44 triples, 146 home runs, and 744 RBIs.

Despite his impressive resume, Crawford struggled in 2023, hitting just .194 with 19 extra-base hits and 38 RBIs. However, the Cardinals are confident that Crawford can bounce back and provide stability at the shortstop position.

The Cardinals were in need of a shortstop after losing Paul DeJong to the Chicago White Sox. With Crawford now in the fold, St. Louis hopes to improve upon their last place finish in the National League Central Division in 2023. Crawford’s experience and track record make him the ideal candidate to help the Cardinals turn things around in the upcoming season.
