TOKYO. Still medals for Italy but not of the most precious metal. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Italy is in fact silver in the men’s saber team trial. In the final for the gold, the Azzurri – Luca Curatoli, the timeless Aldo Montano, Enrico Berrè, with Luigi Samele reserve – were clearly defeated by Korea, who won 45 to 26.
Two third places had already arrived on 28 July. The bronzes were won by the 4th without in rowing and by Federico Burdisso in the 200 dolphin. The blue crew, made up of Matteo Castaldo, Matteo Lodo, Marco Di Costanzo and Giuseppe Vicino, arrived behind Australia and Romania. Shortly before going into the water, Italy had to replace Bruno Rosetti, who tested positive for covid (it is the first case among the Azzurri at the Games), with Di Costanzo.
Bravo Federico Burdisso, bronze in the final of the 200 dolphin. Gold was won by the Hungarian Milak, the silver by the Japanese Honda. Simona Quadarella, on the other hand, finished in fifth place the final of the 1500 style at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
