Both China and South Korea defeated their opponents 3-2 in the quarter-finals. The third women’s singles was Chen Yufei against An Xiying. After 4 draws in the first game, An Xiying led the way in scoring. In the second game, Chen Yufei scored consecutively after 13 ties to establish an advantage, and she pulled back a game 21-15.
In the deciding game, Chen Yufei maintained offensive pressure and she exchanged venues with an 11 to 5 lead. After changing sides, Chen Yufei continued to score points to expand her advantage. She won the tiebreaker 21-15 and won 2-1. The Chinese team swept the South Korean team 3-0 to enter the final.
