SASSARI. Enrico Tanferna and Nicolò Cassitta, both of the Yacht Club Olbia, are the new Sardinian champions of the Laser – Ilca class, the most common drift in Sardinia. The regional titles were assigned at the end of the ranking, drawn up on the basis of the results recorded in the zonal stages in various island locations: Olbia, Siniscola, Cagliari, Cannigione, Arbatax and in the last weekend in Villasimius.

Enrico Tanferna won in the Radial-Ilca 6 class, imposing himself on Tito Morbiducci (YC Cannigione) and Lorenzo Micheli (YC Cagliari). Cassitta established itself in the 4.7-Ilca 4 class, the Laser dedicated to the very young, ahead of Salvatore Falchi and Leonardo Locci, standard bearers of the Olbia Yacht Club.

And the Olbiese club makes the hat-trick by winning the female title with Adele Porcu in the 4.7-Ilca 4 class while the queen of the Radial-Ilca 6 is Laura Crisi of the Cannigione Yacht Club. «It was a quite demanding championship – says Nicola Capriglione, zonal delegate of the Laser class -. About ninety helmsmen who took part in the six regional stages, the most numerous class was the Radial one, with 40 helmsmen, followed by 4.7 with 39 ». (s.c.)
