Storm on Novak Djokovic, once again ended up at the center of the controversy. The Serbian champion, number one in the world, is spending a few days of vacation in Bosnia-Herzegovina. And he was immortalized in a photo with one of the soldiers who participated in the Srebrenica genocide, one of the most dramatic and bloody episodes of the Bosnian War, in which more than 8,000 Bosnians died. The image, released on Twitter, portrays Djokovic together with Milan Jolovic, former commander of the paramilitary unit known as ‘I Lupi di Drina’ who participated in the massacre but was never convicted of war crimes. Jolovic is also known by the nickname ‘Legend’, as he was one of the men who saved the life of former Serbian general Ratko Mladic, convicted in 2017 for genocide and war crimes.
The world’s No. 1 men’s tennis player Novak Djokovic spent the last few days hanging out w/ a former underling of convicted genocidaire Ratko Mladic, & contemporary genocide denier & secessionist Milorad Dodik. Let’s see how many sponsorships “Nole” loses as a result. pic.twitter.com/lnVhMMwV3U
