PALERMO – From 17 to 25 July next year great tennis will return to the Palermo Country Time Club with the 32nd edition of the Palermo Ladies Open, a tournament with a prize pool of 275 thousand dollars. The new date in the international calendar has been made official by the WTA. The prologue to the tournament will be scheduled on July 17 and 18 with the qualifiers (16-player draw), while from Monday 19 there will be room for the main draw with 32 players in singles and 16 pairs in doubles.
The organization will have 4 wild cards at its disposal for the main draw (regardless of the top twenty), while another 2 for the qualifiers and as many in the doubles.
“After last year’s parenthesis with the matches played at the beginning of August – explained the director of the tournament, Oliviero Palma – let’s go back to the traditional date of the second half of July. The Club has never stopped and is ready to host an edition that will be able to count on the presence of about 500 spectators in the stands. Fans have already bought many tickets, but there remains a good availability of both season tickets and tickets for the single days “.
