Tesla Autopilot, now Model 3 and Y “see” the vehicles in emergency stop

With the update in question, 2021.24.12, intended for owners of Model 3 and Model Y, Tesla has therefore added a new “language”. This is what the American company communicated: “If Model 3 / Model Y should detect the lights of an emergency stop vehicle when the Autosteer is in use on a high-speed road, the cruising speed is automatically reduced and the touchscreen displays a message informing you of the slowdown. You will also be able to hear an audible warning and see a reminder to keep your hands on the wheel. Once you pass the emergency stop vehicle, the Autopilot resumes its cruising speed. alternatively, you can touch the accelerator to resume it “. Interestingly, Tesla specifies that this new capability specifically works “at night”.

The automaker also added this important caveat: “Model 3 and Model Y may not detect emergency vehicle lights in all situations, so you need to keep your eyes on the road so you’re always ready for action.”
