We really believe in Dario Teso. Defender and leader of the new dressing room of the Belluno Dolomites, he has all the best intentions to live a second youth in the white jersey. He was the only confirmed “senior” of what was Union Feltre 2020-2021, with whom he played the last two months of the championship, helping to reach the miraculous salvation. This central defender, born at the end of December 1985 in Eraclea, has an enviable resume. He started in D in Jesolo in the 2002-2003 tournament, coming to wear the Nerazzurri uniform also in C2.
From then on, only professionalism – except for one year of D at Darfo Boario – between Venice, Bassano, Itala San Marco, Tritium, Carrarese and Renate, with whom he shared four and a half splendid seasons before concluding the 2019-2020 vintage at Giana Erminio. Last tournament was forgetting, especially the Tuscan parenthesis in D at the Badesse. Until the call of the desperate Union Feltre in April, able to open unexpected doors and return it to the top of its value. And now it’s up to the team born from the merger, which Teso would like to gladly accompany in that C so much dreamed of by the new management from Belluno.
“Well that would be perfect. Maybe I combine the celebrations with the honeymoon. I got married in recent weeks with Martina, with whom I have a girl named Vittoria of two and a half years. But because of Covid we took a vacation in Italy ».
Dad in life and, jokingly speaking, “grandfather” on the pitch?
«No no, not this one. Indeed, in December I will turn 36, but in reality I feel ten years younger. Well, actually I’m starting to have teammates born in 2003, 2004: they could almost be my children now that I think about it. However, it is important to feel young and this works ».
The Dolomites had no doubts, and in particular the vice president Nicola Giusti: we need the leadership of Teso.
“I have to say they were really insistent, they really wanted me. I think the experience in Feltre really helped. Even though it didn’t last long, I got in very well also thanks to the presence of a truly exceptional coach like Zanuttig. And society has shown itself to be highly motivated to achieve that apparently impossible result of salvation. I am very interested in feeling, I trust people and consequently I have decided to say yes to the proposal of the Dolomites. Among other things, I usually like to stay longer, without changing every year ».
You have played over 300 games in Serie C and to do so you need a certain mentality.
«It takes effort and sacrifice. I could choose in different circumstances to go down to D and maybe take some more money. But I think the beauty of sport is trying to reach the highest possible level. And one of my first coaches always repeated: the satisfactions are in the top categories, not the bottom ».
They don’t hide in the Dolomites: there is a championship to win. Maybe not this year, but within a very short time …
«The links of the chain must fit together, as Mr. Lauria recalled. Now it is important to use this month and a half of work to become more and more a group. Many youngsters are former Belluno players and are giving a great hand in welcoming all the other players. The Belluno Dolomites must be solid and united ».
