BELLUNO. The situation of Dolomiti Ambiente must not cause alarms. Even the provincial councilor with responsibility for the Environment, Simone Deola, intervenes in the debate linked to the single manager, and he does so in particular to allay the concerns of Insieme per Belluno (majority group in the municipal council in Belluno) and of the deputy mayor Lucia Olivotto, for “the over 4 million euros of debts” of Dolomiti Ambiente and “a heavy inheritance that risks falling on the citizens”.
“Very serious statements that are not reflected in the real financial state of the company and that anyone can verify through the analysis of the financial statements”, explains Deola. Examining the company’s 2020 financial statements, closed on 31 December, the item “total payables” reads: 4,262,504 euros. How is the debt composed? 1,270,469 euros is the loan for the biodigester; 1,210,620 euros are payables due within the next financial year. Invoices to pay, for example. The same goes for trade payables (€ 962,737). The debts are offset by receivables: € 1,305,424, of which 1,168,820 from customers, due within the following year.
«I want to reassure about the financial situation of Dolomiti Ambiente», continues Deola. 2020 ended with an operating loss of 128,221 euros: “It is due to the plant shutdown last year,” continues the provincial councilor. “For two months, no electricity was produced and resources were invested in the repair. Hence the slight loss of exercise ». 2019 closed with a profit of 88,798 euros. The last interesting figure in the balance sheet concerns bank deposits: 2,310,719 euros. The director adds that the statements made by Insieme per Belluno “are very serious and do not find any confirmation in the real financial state of the company” and “discredit Dolomiti Ambiente at a crucial moment in the process of setting up the single waste manager”.
In reiterating his, and the Province’s, willingness to provide any necessary clarification, Deola points out that «for months there has been a specific smear campaign against La Dolomiti Ambiente, which aims to exclude it from the ongoing process.
