The activity of the women’s under 19 starts, a step towards the first team in 2023

PORDENONE

Not just the first team and the men’s youth sector. Pordenone also actively thinks about its women’s section. So much so that in August the activity of a new team will start, the under 19: that’s right, another team joins the existing ones of the under 12, under 15 and under 17. The group will be coached by Massimiliano Petrella, technician in possession of the Uefa-B license, who in the past collaborated with Sangiorgina but above all already has experience with the Federal Technical Center of San Giorgio di Nogaro in relation to women’s football.

In short, the “pink” family of Pordenone is expanding: it will exceed one hundred members. The establishment of the under 19 training is a move that must be seen in a two-year perspective: thanks to this novelty, in fact, the club has laid the foundations to create the first women’s team, which could be operational from the 2023-’24 season. It should be remembered that the Council of the Football Association, last June 25, unanimously shared the proposal of Gabriele Gravina, president of the FIGC, to start the project of professionalism in women’s football: a path to be completed for the 2022 championship- ‘ 23. The choice of the FIGC was linked to the desire to make the grassroots movement grow and to increase the competitiveness of the top “pink” movement: Pordenone has therefore set in motion to be ready when the change has already taken place.

On the other hand, it is a sector that is acquiring more and more importance both in terms of practitioners and in terms of the space reserved by the media, even indirectly: in the Sky study, to comment on the men’s European championships, there is also Cristiana Girelli, Juventus and National striker.

The lizard project will be followed with a particular eye by Elisa Camporese, technical manager of the women’s sector who joined the club in September 2020 who will soon take over the technical direction of the same. Born in 1984, from Padua, she was a column of Graphistudio Tavagnacco, with which she played in two rounds (from 2006 to 2010 and from 2011 to 2019). Former football player of the Italian national team, in her curriculum as a player well 96 appearances and 46 goals with the blue shirt, as well as 4 league titles, 4 Italian cups and 5 Italian Super Cups.

The fact of having focused on a figure of this depth makes us understand how much Pordenone believes in the project and how much it wants to carry it forward. Surely this is a great opportunity also for the young players, who can be part of the nursery thanks to the under 12, 15 and 17 teams, already present in the staff last year. –
