The anti-Treviso Dinamo relies on the former

David Logan

Tomorrow 17 October the difficult trip to Palaverde, where David Logan and Christian Mekowulu left their mark last year

SASSAR. The desire to win, rather than a spirit of revenge, and the desire to show off in front of a square that knows and appreciates them. David Logan and Christian Mekowulu, two of the key men of Dinamo 2021-’22, tomorrow 17 October at noon at Palaverde in Villorba will face their recent past. The American guard and the Nigerian center can be the “Trojan horses” useful for Demis Cavina’s team to try to make the first outdoor shot of the season.

Last years the two were in fact playing in pairs with the Treviso jersey (then De ‘Longhi, now Nutribullet) and both were great protagonists of the ride that brought Max Menetti’s team up to sixth place in the regular season and playoffs, with the exit from the quarter-finals in three games (two of which very hard-fought) against the future champions of Italy of Virtus Bologna. In the case of David Logan, the presence in Treviso is longer: American with Polish passport, born in 1982, former Italian champion with Dinamo in 2015, he arrived in Veneto in February 2019, in A2, after a brief experience in South Korea. Logan dragged Treviso to promotion to the top flight, winning the prize as Mvp of the Italian Cup finals and playoffs. The following season for him 20 games at 14.6 points, before the stop due to the pandemic, then last season a further step of growth: 16.1 points per game in 27 minutes of average use, with 50% from 2 and 37.7% from beyond the arc, 23 times in double figures out of 29 and at least one triple hit in all but two matches. Curiously, one of the two was against Dinamo.Christian Mekowulu, born in 1995, instead landed in Treviso in the summer of 2020 as a rookie, after a 16.2 + 12.4 rookie season played in A2 with Orzinuovi.

The Nigerian center, trained in the United States between Tennessee State University and Texas A&M, left his mark in Treviso, traveling at 12.7 points per game (24.6 minutes on average), 6.5 rebounds and a very good 60.5 % to the shot. This season, after some fluctuating performances in the Super Cup, the progressive growth has led him to a very high level debut against Pesaro, with 21 points and 11 rebounds, 4 blocks and 35 evaluation. Then a physical problem slowed him down, but Dinamo knows that with his return to top condition many problems will be automatically resolved.
