Back to play after two years of hiatus due to the pandemic: the individual title “B” to the talent of Voghera Davide Coscia

PAVIA

The symbol of the restart of the bowls is Davide Coscia, an eighteen year old talent from Voghera capable of winning the final for the individual B title over the more experienced Idelmo Azzini with a score of 12-7. After two years of hiatus due to the pandemic, in the lanes of Vigevano, Cilavegna and Abbiategrasso (after the first day of the last phase of the 2021 provincial championships was held) the passion for this sport was finally able to revive. Distance, quota seats, compulsory Green pass and mask, but with the much-desired possibility of returning to play and being able to cheer.

In addition to the individual, who brought the talents of the very young Coscia to the attention, two other titles were assigned: in the category C backhoe specialty, Giuliano Bruni, Anselmo Perduca and Roberto Stefanone (father of Matteo, provincial head of Fib), team of the Bocciofila Corvino, won 12-11 in a very tight challenge against Giuseppe Bocca, Mario Caccavella and Giovanni Solari (Cilavegnese); in couple A, easier success (12-8) by Claudio Gualtieri and Mauro Mazzali (Polisportiva Alleanza) on the duo formed by Sergio Albergo and Luca Capettini (Vigevanese). The championships will continue on 2 and 9 October: next Saturday, the individual final category A at the Itala bowling alley in Pavia, while at the Fontana di Godiasco bowling alley the title of the couple C specialty will be taught and at the municipal sports center in via Dabusti in Casteggio that tern will be taught. B category; Saturday 9, the individual final category C in Casteggio, specialty couple B at the municipal bowling green in Vigevano and backhoe A at the Echotek in Abbiategrasso (club for which Azzini, rival of the golden boy Coscia, is registered). In the meantime, the tournaments are also restarting. Last night in Casteggio the final of a regional competition in pairs with 114 participants took place. Everything stopped, however, in Voghera, a city without a bowling green (see box alongside). After the closure of the CSV in via Toscana, the talented Coscia is still registered for the historic Irian club, but he has to play elsewhere. «The restart of the bowls is comforting – Matteo Stefanone observes – And we hope to be able to resolve the Voghera case soon». –
