Mission accomplished: the ultramarathon runners of the “Km 100 per Bressana. Laughing with Fofo ”they ran from dusk to dawn, arriving in the town hall square to applause.
“I got excited when I saw my friend Giorgio Forresu’s mother, brother and sister waiting for us, I got a lump in my throat,” says Mauro Cecchetto. The stand of the “La Merendona del Sorriso” association was also waiting for them, where Forresu, alias “Dottor Cin Cin”, lent his work as a volunteer and to which all the funds raised during the event went.
«When we left at six on Saturday evening – continues Cecchetto – it was very hot; during the night, however, the temperature dropped and we ran well, together with many friends who made stretches of the route together with the dozen of us who instead continued to the end. The result was that we had to slow down to get to the finish line at 11am on Sunday, the time we were expected. I’m happy because this year the participation was high ». Among those present also a large delegation of Pavia Boxing – of which Cecchetto is a councilor – led by the ds Giancarlo Mezzadra. The mayor of Bressana, Giorgio Fasani, welcomed all the runners of the charity ultramarathon to the Town Hall and awarded with a commemorative medal. –
