The Chinese Speed Skating Team Achieves Success at Winter Youth Olympics

The Chinese speed skating team has had an impressive showing at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon Province, South Korea. With the collective start competition being the final event for the speed skating category, the Chinese skaters succeeded in winning a total of 1 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

In the women’s finals, Chinese player Liu Yunqi clinched a bronze medal after skating for 10 laps, marking her third medal at this Winter Youth Olympics. Her teammate, Zhang Shaohan, finished fifth in the same event with 4 points.

Moving on to the men’s finals, Chinese player Pan Baoshuo showcased an outstanding performance as he secured a silver medal with 22 points. His fellow teammate Zhang Wanli finished fifth in the event. Although German player Finn emerged as the champion with 30 points, the Chinese team’s performance in the men’s finals was commendable.

Following the speed skating event, the Chinese team amassed an impressive total of 5 golds, 8 silvers, and 3 bronzes. The delegation currently stands at fourth place in the gold medal list and first in the overall medal count.

In addition to the speed skating event, the freestyle skiing mixed team snow skills competition was also held, in which the Chinese team comprising of Li Ruilin and Long Hao unfortunately did not qualify for the quarter-finals.

The Chinese team has demonstrated exceptional talent and prowess at the Winter Youth Olympics, achieving remarkable success in various events and categories. Their performance serves as a testament to the dedication and skill of young Chinese athletes on the global stage.
