UDINE. The National Basketball League has announced the rounds, calendar and running formula of the LNP Old Wild West 2022 Super Cup, relating to the teams registered in the Serie A2 championship.
The Apu Old Wild West Udine and the newly promoted Gesteco Cividale have been included in the orange group together with Pallacanestro Mantovana and Ferrara.
Udine-Cividale, the first derby of the season, will be played on the last day of the mini-tournament, at the Carnera stadium on Sunday 18 September, except for advances that will be decided in the coming weeks.
It will therefore be the first direct confrontation between the two former president friends (once president and CEO of APU) Alessandro Pedone and Davide Micalich.
But the confrontation between the ambitious team of the capital, which for two years has touched the promotion in Serie A losing the finals with Naples and Verona and the young ducal team, will also be the challenge between two top coaches, the reconfirmed Matteo Boniciolli and Stefano Pillastrini.
Udine and Cividale will start their Super Cup on 11 September with two away matches: to Mantua and to Ferrara.

Formula
The qualifying phase is structured on three one-way matches (two for the Yellow Group).
The 7 group winners and the best runner-up access the quarter-finals, in a single match, on the field of the team with the best ranking. With a combination of Blue-Yellow, Green-Red, Blue-White, Orange-best second.
The 4 winners enter the Final Four, with the 2022 Super Cup at stake.
Calendar
The dates of the qualifying phase are Sunday 11, Wednesday 14, Sunday 18 September. The dates must be understood as “no later than”: the teams are given the right, in agreement with each other (and by 2 September), to bring forward the date of the matches.
Quarter-finals: Wednesday 21 September.
Final Four: Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September.
