The former Suciu: “Pordenone-Tedino is the perfect combination: with this coach, salvation is possible”

The former Neroverde who worked with the coach in the ’16 -’17 tournament speaks. “Lovisa wants a team that plays proactive football: now he will have it”

«Pordenone and Tedino represent the perfect combination. They needed each other. And together they can save themselves ». Among the supporters of the new marriage between the Friulian club and the coach there could not have been him, Sergiu Suciu, born in 1990, former midfielder of the lizards: in the 2016-2017 season, in fact, the footballer relaunched and earned the call in B of the Venice thanks to the neroverdi and Tedino. “He’s a coach who makes you want to play football: I’m happy he’s back,” says the Romanian who, this year, has been playing for the first time in his career at home (with Chindia Targoviste, in Serie A).

Suciu, can we say that you have no doubts about the choice made by Mauro Lovisa himself?

«The president wants a team that plays an offensive game. And he knows very well that the coach is able to do it. With him you train at maximum intensity and his sessions are based on ball possession. I am convinced that both will benefit from this marriage. The neroverdi can recover in the standings, the coach can do well again after some unfortunate experiences ».

Is Pordenone the environment in which Tedino can best express himself?

“For me yes. The story also speaks, because from 2015 to 2017 he had done very well. Then he lives in the territory, he deserved this call and to start again in Serie B. Now they both have to believe in salvation: they can do it, the championship is only at the beginning ».

What is the main merit of your former coach?

«It gives you the desire to dominate the game. He proposes his game, he does not wait for the opponent. He is able to bring out the best of the players he has available in the attacking phase. The midfielders and forwards he has worked with have always done well. Besides, he is a very good person ».

She has never hidden that she has an excellent relationship with him.

“Of course. During the year in Pordenone he gave me a lot from a technical and human point of view. I needed to relaunch and after that season I went to Venice among the cadets ».

Tedino followed her to B with Palermo. And in the 2017-2018 vintage, following his goal with a long-range shot, the coach was exonerated from the leadership of the Sicilians.

«To think that, often, after training I often stopped with him to improve my shooting from outside the area. Football is also made up of these things, but clearly I was sorry ».

Analyzing the green lizards again, the feeling is that Tedino has brought back great enthusiasm within the team.

«It is one of his qualities. And he’s good at passing it on. Certainly it must immediately enter the players’ minds. Because now we start from scratch. He has inherited a difficult and particular situation, but if he starts with two positive results in the next two races he can do really well. The match against Pisa is complicated, but within reach, even though it is a spin ».

Suciu, in 2016-2017 Pordenone played a fun and proactive football. You were denied promotion to Serie B only after the semifinal with Parma.

«We were all looking forward to getting to the pitch to train. Who knows what we would have done if we had been promoted, we played really well. Too bad it ended like this ».

Regarding his career, he chose to return to his country after leaving it when he was 13. How do you rate the Romanian Serie A?

«I wanted to have this experience. After the parenthesis at Juve Stabia, the Chintia Targoviste coach, Emil Sandoi, called me, who had trained me in the under 21 (and former player of the national team, called up for the World Cup in Italy ’90, ed). I am finding that continuity that I have not had in the last two years. The level of the championship is good, the focus is more on technique than on tactics. There are many interesting players: just see Man and Mihaila doing well at Parma ».
