The hot challenge between young promises to remember the rider Vittorio Bonetto

Not a simple race, but a great celebration in the memory of a young man who genuinely loved sport and in particular was passionate about everything that was adrenaline-pumping, from downhill to free style.

On Sunday 17th on the technically demanding track, almost a hundred young bikers on their mountain bikes challenged each other in memory of Vittorio Bonetto, the unforgettable young rider torn from his life just 25 years old by a fulminating meningitis on 8 January 2017. Up for grabs was the first Mini Rookies cup to be won right on the track that saw the birth of the current Italian champion and promise of European downhill, Lorenzo Mascherini, resident in Prascorsano and therefore a true master of the house.

Even if there were boys and girls from six to 13 years old on the saddle, it should not be forgotten that it was a full-fledged race honored with grit, commitment, competitive spirit and determination by all members. So here are the rankings: Adelaide Balocco and Camilla Gemme won gold and silver in the G1 category. Zaira Shah in the G3; Selene Pagani, Rebecca Bruno and Chiara Mascherini are the podiums of the G5 and G6; Elia Rista, Ettore Manera and Samuele Contini are gold, silver and bronze in the men’s G1 while Pietro Vigna, Samuele Esposito and Pietro Goldoni have risen in order to keep company with their anics and opponents in the men’s G2. Another “landlord” with a heavy surname, Lorenzo Ancillotti, has lined up Mattia Vincenzi and Leonardo Balocco. Gabriele Tubalto, Edoardo Ducco and Michele Rinaldi are first, second and third in the G4 while in the G5 there are Jacopo Rista, Alessandro Bonora and Gioele Mula. Finally, in the G6 Thomas Bruno won ahead of Filippo Gilardino and Lorenzo Pollone. –
