Fatum Nyiregyhaza boasts three participations in the Cev Cup in the last three seasons and returns to the top European competition after 17 years from the first two experiences, after winning the Hungarian championship; this is the sixth national title, in addition to nine Hungarian Cups. The city, located in the easternmost province of the Hungarian country, bears its name in four other languages, German, Slovak, Romanian and Yiddish. The team, which has no internationally renowned players, plays in the Continental Arena, a facility renovated seven years ago and capable of 2,500 spectators. The club describes itself as “a flagship of Hungarian women’s volleyball”.
