When we say team we must mean much more than those who take the field. And around the Imoco there is a large group of people who carry out activities that are as different from each other as they are complementary. On the bench, alongside Daniele Santarelli, Valerio Lionetti was confirmed as assistant coach, in his fifth season with the panthers. To replace Martino Volpini, who returned to Casalmaggiore, this time with the role of coach, as assistant coach there will be Tommaso Barbato, former scoutman, but already expert in the roles of the bench, having been deputy in Urbino, Chieri and Caserta. The new faces are those of Andrea Zotta, sparring called to reinforce training with the ball, of Marco Greco, in charge of statistics, and of the two physiotherapists Nicolò Valerio and Luca Bisetto. All the others have been confirmed, starting with the athletic trainer, Marco Da Lozzo, passing through the doctors Claudio Dalla Torre, Lorenzo Segre and Vito Lamberti. The Team Manager will still be Pierpaolo Zanasi, Gianfranco “Gianfry” Tonon will continue to take care of the materials and the playing field, relations with the referees will be handled by Maurizio Pasqual. In the most strictly corporate part remain Isabella Minato for commercial and social, Silvia Giovanardi for youth activities and scouting, Simone Fregonese for communication and marketing, Martina Michielin and Leonardo De Vido for secretarial and ticketing.
Speaking of tickets and season tickets, therefore of the public, Imoco joined the Fipav appeal for the return of the public to the stadiums in the next 2021/22 season. The advice given to the Gialloblù fans is to get vaccinated and get the “green pass”, so that, in case of opening, they can watch the matches live. From 4 March 2020, the last open-door match (Champions League quarter-finals against Stuttgart), a very long time has passed, in which the races have lost the emotional, sound and chromatic element of cheering; for this reason, the wish of the Imoco is to embrace its supporters again, pushing on the vaccination campaign.
A first sign of normality is the return to friendlies in preparation for the new season: 11 September with Montecchio in San Donà, 17 or 18 September in Bologna with an A1 team, 25 and 26 September McDonald’s Trophy in Imola with Monza, Scandicci and Florence . The meeting is set for August 16 in San Vendemiano (with Wolosz, De Kruijf, Caravello, Gennari, Omoruyi and Frosini), the official debut on October 2 in the Super Cup against Novara. –
