The Chapel renounces the complaint against the Longarone Alpina but the judge does not accept it. The three days of stoppage may not have been discounted with the Spinea shirt

The case of Stefano Longo’s disqualification ends with the Federal Prosecutor’s Office. Unexpected twist on Longarone Alpina – Cappella Maggiore on the first day of First Category. In fact, the 2-0 obtained on the field by the Belluno citizens remains valid at the moment, as in the end the Treviso club has renounced to appeal. But the sports judge wants to see clearly about the player’s position, as underlined in the note that appeared yesterday in the press release.

DRAG IN SIGHT?

Everything stems from the announcement of a complaint by the Cappella regarding the three days of disqualification received by Longo on the last day played with the Alpina jersey in October 2020, just before the suspension of the tournament due to Covid. According to the Chapel he had not discounted them, so he could not take over on Sunday 19 September. The player, however, from April 2021 to June 2021 was registered with Spinea for the mini championship of Excellence, culminating among other things with the promotion to D of the Venetians.

All this emerged following the deductions presented by the Longarone Alpina, after the announcement of the complaint. Having learned this, the Cappella withdrew the appeal. No complications so far. The problem emerges later and the sports judge describes it.

“From the correspondence exchanged between the representatives of the two companies concerned (the complainant expresses strong doubts about the legitimacy and loyalty of the behavior)”, reads the official statement, “an interesting passage can be found in the justifications of the complainant, where she rejects the charge with the expression “my staff and I know the regulations and respect them”. The latter term, in the opinion of the judge, considering the peculiarity of the case, could better be understood as “we use”. If this were the case, the behavior of the claimed company should be considered non-compliant with the principles of loyalty, correctness and honesty “.

The sports judge’s reference seems to be linked to the fact that Longo, from Spinea, “would never have been employed”, as well as being registered again by Longarone Alpina in July.

OPPORTUNITY TRANSFER?

Of the series, the judge wants to verify whether the transfer of Longo in April was only useful to make him extinguish the disqualification and if it should be considered an incorrect practice for regulatory purposes or not. As a result, the case files are now being passed on to the Federal Prosecutor, who will no doubt hear the parties involved.

“We are surprised”, comments President Giuliana, “above all because the Cappella has even given up making an appeal, once it has learned our reasons”.
