The latest hypothesis of the League does not move the APU. Cantù and Turin tough rivals, Verona goes towards the southern group
UDINE. The cards are reshuffled, the Apu Old Wild West is preparing for a probable “move” in the group with the Piedmontese and Lombard teams. This is what emerged from the board of directors of the National Basketball League, which apparently acknowledged the requests of the Udine club during the assembly last week. The APU was not satisfied to find itself in a group that would have seen it face long trips, including the two in Puglia (Nardò and San Severo, increasingly close to the repechage) and that of Scafati, and had formulated a proposal: reverse in the two rounds in Udine and Verona with the Tuscans Pistoia and Chiusi. Proposal received halfway, to tell the truth, given that the LNP board of directors limited itself to reversing Udine with Chiusi, leaving Verona in the group with the bulk of the teams on the Adriatic side (from Emilia Romagna downwards) and dividing the two teams Tuscan. Turin, Biella, Casale Monferrato, Cantù, Urania Milan, Treviglio, Assigeco Piacenza, Bakery Piacenza, Mantua, Orzinuovi, Pistoia, Trapani and Capo d’Orlando. These are the opponents of the Apu Old Wild West in the group after the “retouching” made by the LNP board of directors.
Now the ball passes to the competitive sector of the Fip, to which the composition of the two groups has been proposed. The Federation should give the green light within a few days, in any case before the federal council on 29 July. If there are no objections, Udine will be satisfied: despite having to fly to Sicily for the second consecutive year, the odometer would benefit greatly.
It must be said that in one way or another, there is always some discontent, since the conformity of the boot does not allow a subdivision of the 28 teams that can be defined as perfect. As for the sporting aspect, the news is that in all probability we will already be seeing in regular season to a duel between Udine and Cantù, at the moment the companies that have invested the most in the market. On the one hand, the desire to finally touch paradise, after having caressed it by reaching the final with Napoli, on the other hand the desire to return to Serie A after a very bitter relegation. –
