The Pavesi burned for the knockout with Genoa will return to the field on Sunday 24 at Fortunati for the high-ranking challenge with Pinerolo
PAVIA
The Pavia Academy returns from Arenzano 2-1 defeated by Genoa and thus loses its third place in the standings in group A of the women’s Serie C championship. Game of many regrets and some recriminations also for the referees’ decisions.
«At least we deserved the draw – declares the coach of the blue girls Corrado Martinotti -. Under 2-1 in the first half we closed Genoa in their half of the pitch for the full 45 seconds. We hit a post with Dugo and we also made the 2-2 with Codecà but the referee canceled it due to an offside position of our striker who was not there. In short, losing in this way leaves a bad taste in the mouth because we didn’t deserve to return without points from this away match against an opponent who with two shots, one penalty of which brought home the full loot ». After the trip to Liguria there will be no upcoming matches, but only training sessions in view of the resumption of the women’s Serie C championship after Easter.
“Now we have the Easter break and then we will be back on the pitch in two weeks, Sunday 24 at Fortunati to host Pinerolo in a good match as we are facing the second force in our championship with the aim of moving back to the rankings” adds the Pavesi technician Martinotti. The tournament is still long because there are 7 days to go until its conclusion is scheduled for next June 5th.
