the case

At the end of June, Valentino Rossi announced his entry into MotoGP with his team, VR46, thanks to the financing of Tanal, the holding company of the Saudi royal prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Saud bin AbdulAziz Al Saud. On that occasion, the main sponsor, the oil giant Aramco, was also unveiled. In the following weeks, however, Aramco denied involvement and there had been no more news from Saudi Arabia.

Yesterday the member of the royal family held a conference with the Italian press revealing some details of the operation: “The funding for the team will be $ 18 million per season for 5 years and we will proceed with the payment next week”, he insured. To see everything in black and white, however, we will have to wait a little longer, until Wednesday “when there will be an announcement by the government,” promised the prince. The entry into MotoGp is part of a project on the Pharaonic card, which would be worth one billion euros and which includes a theme park dedicated to motorsport, the creation of a car and motorcycle factory, the acquisition of some Italian companies in the sector automotive and even the Modena circuit. It is not over, the prince would also like to buy an F1 team and “Have a MotoGP Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia”. Valentino would be the added value, in fact he had declared his desire to see him run for another year in the new team. His will was rejected after the announcement of the Doctor’s retirement “But he will be able to participate in car races and we will have a lot to talk about with him,” he pointed out. All that remains is to wait, then Rossi’s team will become reality, as in a tale of the Thousand and One Nights. –
