The players with the coronavirus rise to ten, Pordenone in emergency after the break

Positive buffer for four other elements: at the moment the resumption of compact ranks of training is excluded

PORDENONE. Pordenone was again hit by Covid-19. On Monday, following a further round of checks, four cases of positivity were found among the members of the team group, which were added to the six detected in the period between the eve of the match against breaking latest news last March 13 to return of the away match in Empoli (18 March).

There are ten, to date, the elements affected by the Coronavirus. A truly complicated situation, on which the Prevention Department of the “Friuli Occidentale” Health Authority, after examining the results of today’s tampons, will have to comment on when they can resume group training. To date, net of the positives, about fifteen individuals support them individually, including injuries.

Those who took part in the trip to Empoli do so strictly from home following the home quarantine provision of the ASL. The hope of the club, at this point, is that most of the positives will be negativized as soon as possible: the match against Brescia is on the agenda on Friday 2 April and cannot be postponed, given that the club has already used the request for the challenge with Pisa.

It all started on Friday 12 March, when the first infected of the team group was highlighted. On the eve of the match against Empoli, another case followed by three cases on the day of the match. Returning from Tuscany, the last positive ascertained. Yesterday the results of further swabs were known and the count thus rose to ten. Pordenone feared that the outbreak would hit other members of the team-group: so it went.

Excluding – due to new positives – the return to full ranks at De Marchi, the neroverde company hopes that the ASL will give the green light at least to the training of negative players in the new cycle of tampons. As for the positives, it will be necessary to wait for the results of further tests (to be determined when).

It is also difficult to understand when the group will be able to work again as it did until recently. As the days pass, then, at least some members of the team group become negativized and therefore can integrate with those who already work. It seems complicated that everyone will be available for the match against Brescia. And when those who contracted the virus will return, it will be necessary to understand what conditions they will be in.

One aspect is certain: Pordenone will face the most important period of the championship without some players due to injury and, above all, veterans from Covid.

Under what conditions will the team be able to play the nine matches scheduled from 2 April to 7 May? It is a question that keeps you on your toes, from the management, to the technical staff and to the players. It is a situation that will bring with it the aftermath, which, however, should not be used as an alibi: it is the second salvation in a row in Serie B. Where the body does not arrive, the head will have to do it.
