Exploit of the athlete originally from Quartu born in the Amicora nursery. Third place is worth the ticket to the Olympics
BASEL. The Sardinian Nicola Bartolini won the bronze medal for free body at the European Artistic Gymnastics in Basel. In the final won by the Russian Nagorny, with 15.166, Bartolini finished third with 14.666, even surpassed by the Swiss Benjamin Gischard (14.966).
Last Thursday, the Quartese gymnast had come close to winning the Olympic card in the all-around, but today, April 24, he climbs the continental podium for the first time in his career and wins a place for Tokyo.
Bartolini, born in 1996, was born in Quartu and grew up in the Amicora nursery which in the past produced several Olympians and Italian champions (the last Angelo Zucca in the 1980s). At 13, Bartoleddu, as he is nicknamed, moved to the federal center of Milan in order to make the most of his enormous potential. A period of crisis, overcome with the new company, the Salerno Gymnastics, and for some years Bartolini has been permanently in the national team up to today’s exploit, with several very important successes at national and international level.
Bartolini is delighted with this great exploit. “Thanks to my company that has helped and supported me in this long journey. Now I am ready for new commitments, always keeping the 4 Moors and the name of Sardinia in my heart”.
