Their mission is at high risk of death, but on balance, death is an acceptable option, at least for those who put them together: we are talking about the super-criminals who make up the infamous Task Force X and who are the protagonists of ‘The Suicide Squad – Missione suicida’. This is the tenth film in the cinematic universe of DC’s comic book heroes. It is directed by James Gunn and played by a handful of famous faces, above all Margot Robbie, Idris Elba and John Cena. It will be released in Italian cinemas on Thursday 5 August, but will be previewed in some selected cinemas as early as Monday 2.

The plot starts from the idea of recruiting
super criminals incarcerated and use them for particularly dangerous secret missions: if some of them die, it won’t hurt, if they try to escape an explosive at the base of the skull will explode their heads, but if they are successful a substantial penalty discount awaits them. Based on the comics written by John Ostrander, the movie ‘The Suicide Squad – Suicide Mission’ was
written and directed by James Gunn, that is, the one who had transformed ‘Guardians of the galaxy’, one of the most risky bets of the Marvel house, into a huge success with audiences and critics. Under his careful direction, a group of characters made up of Harley Quinn (played by
Margot Robbie), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Bloodsport (
Idris Elba |), Peacemaker (
John Cena), TDK (Nathan Fillion). In the cast also the faces of Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Daniela Melchior and Alice Braga, in addition to the voices of Sylvester Stallone and Sean Gunn (who dub the characters of King Shark and Weasel).

The reviews, the opinion of the critics
Critics have been generous with ‘The Suicide Squad – Suicide Mission’, so much so that it has generated an average rating, on Metacritic, of 77/100. In general, the reasons for the success are to be found in the
ability demonstrated by James Gunn in combining irony and comedy with ultraviolence and irreverence. A mix that makes the vision unsuitable for the little ones, but which does honor to the original source, a pulp and anarchoid comic.
