The two-wheeled “intelligent suspension” makes its debut in gravel

by admin

HiRide’s intelligent suspension makes its debut in the “gravel” bicycle segment. After the agreement with Pinarello, experimented directly in the sports sector, now the AR (all-road) line of the startup of the E-Novia group, super-compact and integrable in the frame, is integrated into the line of BMC, the Swiss manufacturer that has chosen to adopt the suspension for its new top model gravel Urs LT.

With the help of electronics, HiRide has developed suspension specifically designed to optimize the performance and comfort of gravel cyclists, while enhancing the design and performance of the bikes.

Thanks to a vibration absorption of more than 47% compared to a rigid frame on rough terrain – adjustable absorption when the road surface requires it -, the HiRide solutions guarantee greater grip and a ride characterized by better control of the vehicle and greater comfort for the user.

In general, the suspensions improve pedaling efficiency and comfort, which however come at the expense of the weight and line of the bike, as well as performance on the road, where all the cyclist’s power must be discharged to the ground.

For this reason, until now in the gravel segment rigid frame solutions have been preferred, and the athletes intervened on the size and pressure of the tires to tackle the off-road. This compromise, however, exposed to the risk of more frequent punctures, to sensations of less control during the bend and to greater friction on the asphalt.
