CONEGLIANO. After a fairytale 2021, 2022 also started with indelible emotions for Lara Caravello. On the day of the Epiphany, the 27-year-old from Udine raised the Italian women’s volleyball cup to the sky with her Imoco Conegliano, under the eyes of a special spectator: the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, at his last public appearance of the year.
The president received as a gift the jerseys of the blue Paola Egonu and Cristina Chirichella, the autographed balls of the two teams on the field, the reproduction of the Italian Cup and a golden ball of the women’s volleyball league, but above all the title of “best player” , given to him by the Lega before the match in a room reserved for the Palasport in Rome.
