The Volpianese comeback hits the first bang in the tiebreak and takes revenge

Volpianese’s first win at the tiebreak. It arrives on the seventh day of the first leg of group A of the women’s B1 series away from Caselle.

Coach Stefano Andreotti sends Bazzarone on the field in dribble, Giorgia Andreotti in the opposite, Valentina Re and Tessari in the band, Neffati and Bruno in the center and Ghirotto free and the Volpianese in the first fraction makes a few mistakes too many in the serve, never managing to go ahead in scoring and losing 25-23. Volpianese reaction in the second half, with coach Andreotti’s team making the game and winning the set 13-25 with full merit. In the third fraction the uncertainties resurface, especially in the service and Caselle takes advantage of it, regaining the advantage and closing 25-20.

The Volpianese, however, does not give up and so in the fourth set Bazzarone and his teammates play with great attention in all the fundamentals, preventing Caselle from being effective in attack and creating problems in reception for the opponents. The victory goes again to the Volpianese 23-25, while at the tie break the guests go to the front change 4-8, before winning the set by a large margin (9-15). Thus the Volpianese also avenges the defeat in the B2 playoff final a few months ago. On Saturday the Volpianese will seek the third consecutive victory in the league: after the Parella Torino at home and the Caselle away, the Milanese of Novate arrive at the Pala Unità d’Italia in Volpiano. –
