On Tuesday control tests on the team after six positives. Between infections and injuries only 12 players train (at home)
PORDENONE. Three days of questions, of thoughts. Then, on Tuesday, the verdict will arrive, in the form of the ASL opinion following the new cycle of tampons. The hope is only one: that most of the results are negative and that the green light will be given to be able to train in a group again. The match against Brescia, scheduled for Friday 2 April, will only have nine days to go.
Pordenone races against time but in the meantime he works from home and crosses his fingers: this time he has no other alternatives. Covid has hit Tesser’s formation hard, given the six ascertained positives. The match against Pisa, originally scheduled for today, has been canceled and those who participated in the Empoli away match are in default solitary confinement for another 72 hours.
However, there are not many players who can follow the training sessions prepared by “prof” Fabio Munzone: given the six positive and eight injured, a dozen players can work without any problem (even in their own home), net of many Primavera players present in the away match in Empoli (also in quarantine). They have the task of maintaining adequate muscle tone in view of the recovery, set precisely for March 23 – if all goes well – or for another date that will define the ASL. There are no indications about it. It has not even been established when, if any, a new cycle of control swabs will be set.
One thing is certain: Pordenone has already played the “wild card” relating to the request to postpone the match. In other words, if a new outbreak should break out within the team group, the green lizards will no longer be able to exercise the possibility used for the match against Pisa and will lose at the table: only Reggiana has happened to find itself in this situation.
After having obtained the postponement of the match with the Cittadella, last October following the high number of positives in the group-team (16 in all), he lost the next challenge with Salernitana: the outbreak in the meantime had widened and the grenade did not have the minimum number of negative players (13 plus a goalkeeper) available to take the field. The green lizards, of course, hope not to have to imitate them in view of the Rigamonti match against Brescia. It is hoped that the cluster will remain contained and that in the meantime the members of the group-team with positive results will become negativized, in order to be available again.
The return to the field will still be tough, because after the match with the Rondinelle on Easter Eve, they will be played on Easter Monday in Lignano, with Virtus Entella. And you will necessarily have to score points. Possibly three.
