Many people and, in particular, many children and young people from the biancorossoceleste youth sector attended the match between San Giorgio Sedico and Cartigliano in the stands of the municipal stadium of Ricolt, where yesterday admission was free. Many of them also settled in the additional grandstand that last summer had been installed precisely to meet the capacity needs dictated by the category jump (but Covid, and the consequent closure of the stadiums, had almost never allowed to use it). Among the fans, the theme of the merger (now widely announced) with the other two Belluno clubs of D continues to arouse curiosity.
“In terms of prestige,” comments, for example, the Sedicense Gianfranco Tibolla, former footballer, «I believe that the birth of a single top-level reality in Belluno football must be viewed favorably in order to try to achieve an important result. A little sorry, however, at the same time, that the three original realities fall apart. In any case, I believe that this merger is the only way forward if the goal is to make a qualitative leap. And, according to the names that circulate, in particular for management figures such as that of general manager, I believe that the goal is actually that of a qualitative leap. These are people I don’t think would come here to joke … This is certainly not the first merger we are witnessing, but there is no doubt that it is the most sensational. The previous ones, that of the Belluno con Ponte, or even that of the Feltrese col Sedico, had mainly served to acquire the rights of the new category. In this case, everything is different, because the three teams already play in Serie D ».
There are, however, the skeptical voices of those who do not understand this operation.
“I’m not too supportive. Virtually the San Giorgio disappears. Another matter », he comments Luciano Da Rold, historical fan of the Sedicense team (he was among those who contributed most to the writing of the book on the fifty years of San Giorgio and Sedico), “it would have been if they had put, in the name, those of all the realities that will give life to this merger. Honestly, however, it seems to me that every representation of our reality is lost, in our small way. I’m sorry, also because important refurbishment of the stadium has just been done, starting with the synthetic. I have read that the team will probably come here to play in the winter, but it will never be the same anyway. And, honestly, I’ve only heard unfavorable opinions, at least from the other people who support Union San Giorgio Sedico. I have yet to find favorable ones. Another matter, of course, was the merger with the Sedico a few years ago some time ago. In that case it was a question of two companies from the same municipality, two close realities ».Nicola Pasuch
