TOKYO. The IOC authorized the captain of the German national hockey team to wear the rainbow sash symbol of the LGBT movement at the Olympics, as did the captain of the national football team Manuel Neuer to the Europeans.
“Love always wins,” commented the 24-year-old Nike Lorenz on social media, who had made this request through the German Olympic committee. The athlete posted a photo of the rainbow band that he will wear on his socks on Sunday at his debut against Great Britain.
