Tokyo: rowing, Italy gold in women’s lightweight double with Federica Cesarini and Valentina Rodini

Extraordinary blue enterprise in rowing. The second gold medal of the Italian Olympic expedition to Tokyo comes from the women’s double light weight. The crew formed by Federica Cesarini and Valentina Rodini crossed the finish line ahead of France and Holland. The blues won the medal in the last part of the race held in the Sea Forest Waterway, theater of rowing competitions.

Previously also a bronze medal for the Azzurri in the men’s double lightweight test. Stefano Oppo and Pietro Willy Ruta closed the race behind Ireland and Germany.

Italy thus rises to 18 overall medals, of which the two gold medals won by Dell’Aquila in taekwondo and by the women’s lightweight double in rowing.
