Trail della Diga, a record edition

by admin

A special edition, on a 22-kilometer route, which brings with it 450 meters of positive elevation gain. The Trail della Diga organized by La Vetta Running was postponed from April to Sunday and registrations were snapped up, soon reaching the maximum limit set by the organizers and set at an altitude of 250 (including 50 women).

“The TDD was born for fun five years ago from an idea of Lvr Offroad, the Trail section of La Vetta Running, with the aim of making known the old paths left to the neglect of time and lost in the woods around the di Mongrando – the organizers explain -. In Valle Elvo there were no races of this type and we decided to remedy it with a management that might be a little familiar, but very appreciated. From the initial 10 km we are growing from year to year, gaining experience, lengthening the track and increasing the elevation gain. Last year we had two routes ready: the first of 30km (1600 meters D +) and the other of 12 kilometers (400 meters D +) and the ITRA certification had also arrived, which had made the TDD 30 a qualifying race for the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc. Unfortunately, the appearance of the Covid-19 pandemic did not allow us to carry out the event “.

But at La Vetta Running they did not lose heart. «Even with all the necessary precautions and in compliance with the most stringent health protocols, we will try again with a new route of 22 km, suitable for everyone – they conclude from the control room -. The Trail della Diga wants to be a real appointment, without frills, respectful of the environment, with lots of music, good beer, full of fun ». The program includes the collection of bibs on Sunday (from 7 to 8.30) in the multipurpose center of Mongrando. Starting from 9 am the starts in line with block spacing of up to 50 athletes, each separated by 5 meters.
