TvB, Sims stops Covid: but it’s a race against time

The center must support the return to play, today the results for Chillo, Akele, Russel and Dimsa: tomorrow’s match against Trieste at risk

/ TREVISO

The recovery match between Nutribullet and Allianz Trieste, scheduled at Palaverde tomorrow evening at 20, could be played: we will know today, when we know the results of the last molecular swabs. For now, the negatives are 5. According to the new regulation, in order to participate in the match a team must have a maximum of 35% positive athletes or, if you want, 65% negative: therefore on a squad of 10 it means having to have some 7 (clearly rounded up, would be 6.5 …) of available. One wonders how to calculate an odd percentage, which actually was originally launched for football, where the squads are naturally wider.

But beware: this new regulation will come into force at 12 today, the eve of the match, supplanting the old one, according to which to take the field you had to prove that you have at least six professionals (or seniors) available. Treviso Basket of negatives until yesterday had Imbrò, Jones, Bortolani, Jurkatamm and Sokolowski, moreover not yet physically in place but, apparently, able to play, perhaps gritting his teeth. Yesterday, only Chillo did the molecular swab, today the other three, who are Akele, Russell and Dimsa, hoping that with 24 more hours available, positivization becomes more likely. And naturally hoping that no more positive news will arrive.

As for Sims, he was negativized but now he will have to go through the whole procedure that will enable him to play. In any case, all the positives of TvB are in the A1 range, that is the one with the lightest symptoms. The order of the swabs varies according to the day of the infection and how many vaccinations each one has carried out. In case of negativization, the player must re-qualify, the so-called return to play. In any case, it is clear that facing a Trieste in great shape with a negative-ex-positive mix, moreover without training or almost, becomes a real undertaking, but so be it. Max Menetti’s team (the coach turns 49 today, best wishes) in the first two days of the week remained stationary, yesterday those who were available did individual work (athletics and weights), today a training is planned in Sant ‘ Antonino. Of course for those who can do it.

News from Trieste. Lost Juan Manuel Fernandez, the playmaker returned to Argentina for personal reasons and, momentarily, Alessandro Lever, for the latter Allianz has registered Luca Campani, a 1990 4 who grew up at Benetton Basket and in the last two years in Turin. As for the director, from the bench the name of Stefano Bossi is mentioned, an ex from Trieste, today at Urania Milano in A2. –
