SUTRIO. Less than three weeks to the Friulian stage of the Giro d’Italia, the Marostica-Monte Zoncolan, the highly anticipated fourteenth, fraction of 22 May and here in this video shot by Tex Tessari what the peak of the Kaiser looks like in these days.
The enormous work of the snow blower allowed to open the road up to 1,730 meters above sea level, but at the moment, as you can see in the video, the vehicles and cyclists (in recent days at high altitude the former winner of the Giro Stefano Garzelli) must pass between two snow walls.
How much will the white blanket melt in these twenty days that separate from the stage?
In short, it is very likely that the snow will be a spectacular “adventure companion” of the Giro caravan which is still waiting to know, due to a pandemic, if the climb will be open to fans.
Which, evidently, if allowed to climb beyond the chairlift square in the final three difficult kilometers of ascent, will have a hard time finding a useful place among the snow walls to applaud their heroes.
