“Victory” for Cristiano Ronaldo. Las Vegas judge Jennifer Dorsey dismisses Kathryn Mayorga’s rape lawsuit against Manchester United star.
The decision is motivated by the “bad faith” of the accuser’s lawyer, Leslie Mark Stovall, and the use of stolen documents on the talks between Ronaldo and his lawyers.
Facts that, according to the court, have tainted the case beyond recovery. In the 42 pages in which his decision is collected, Dorsey explains that he has closed the case outright without the possibility of being re-presented.
“The acquisition and continued use of” stolen “documents was in bad faith,” writes the judge harshly criticizing Stovall for his way of operating. “It deserves tough penalties,” says Dorsey.
The judge had already signaled in recent months that she was ready to close the case after Mayorga had not met a procedural deadline in her attempt to obtain more than 25 million dollars from Ronaldo.
