Ussi Padel Tournament: the Loffredo-Zedda couple wins

The event was held on the fields of the Dopolavoro Ferroviario in Cagliari: 18 pairs of journalists competing

CAGLIARI. Morning of outdoor sports in the first regional Padel Epiphany 2022 tournament held this morning on the fields of the railway Dopolavoro in Cagliari, in viale La Playa. The event – promoted by Ussi (Italian Sports Press Union) with the patronage of the Order of Journalists and Assostampa – was attended by eighteen colleagues enrolled in the Rolls of the Order. The event took place with the support of Coni and Aics-Cagliari and in collaboration with the Intesa Sanpaolo group.

The facilities, with the padel having a strong and continuously growing following, are the daily destination of hundreds of enthusiasts and practitioners. The results. After more than three hours of meetings with the formula of the single set, divided into two groups with consequent semifinals and final, the couple formed by Stefano Loffredo and Piergiorgio Zedda prevailed, who in the final won over Paolo Carta and Riccardo Di Siena. Third place for Claudio Cugusi and Mario Frongia, winners of the final against Giuseppe Meloni and Michele Ruffi.

the Amisani, Collu, Cugusi, Deplano, Di Dino, Madeddu, Pilia, Pisu, Volponi and Zasso groups are stopped. The prize for the best player of the tournament went to Paolo Carta; awards also for the youngest and least young player (Ruffi and Frongia respectively) and for the technical director of the tournament, the master Matteo Casula.

The event was attended by among others the president of the Sardinian Order of Journalists Francesco Birocchi, the president of Coni Sardegna Bruno Perra, the president of Aics Cagliari Andrea Lobina and the vice president Ussi Sardegna Sergio Cadeddu. Claudio Cugusi did the honors for the Dopolavoro Ferroviario. The event, to the success of which the Intesa Sanpaolo group contributed, after the awards ceremony ended with refreshments at the club house of the plant.
