Verstappen king of Miami, the two Ferraris on the podium

The Dutchman dominates from the first laps, Leclerc takes advantage of the safety car but in the final he has to settle for the place of honor

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) wins the Miami GP at the end of a race conducted with great authority from the very first laps. Ferrari completes the podium: second Leclerc, who started from pole and Sainz.

The breaking latest news of the grand prix. Before the start, fuel problems for the two Aston Martins of Vettel and Stroll starting from the pits. Good start for Leclerc who maintains the first position, followed by Verstappen who burns Sainz. Followed by Perez, Bottas, Gasly, Alonso, Hamilton. Ferrari fails to stretch and on the ninth lap the reigning world champion slips the overtaking and takes the lead.

The Red Bull Dutchman has another pace and gains more than three and a half seconds within seven laps. Further away Sainz, Perez, Bottas, Hamilton, Gasly, Alonso, Norris and Schumacher. Leclerc makes the fastest lap on lap 24 but Verstappen seems to be administering the lead.

On the next lap the Monegasque makes the pit stop and mounts the hard tires. Two laps later it is Verstappen’s turn who comes out and returns to the track in first position. After 29 laps Verstappen has 7 ” 3 on Leclerc, 17 ” on Sainz and 23 ” on Perez. An accident between Gasly and Norris triggers the virtual safety car with 14 laps to go. Perez takes the opportunity to change the tires and mount the averages. He starts again with the Mexican from Red Bull who is tailing Sainz; later the parts are reversed with Leclerc’s Ferrari approaching Verstappen.

The last laps are heart-pounding. Russel slips into Hamilton, the distances canceled by the safety car make the last kilometers hot. In the rear, Vettel and Schumacher meet, both ending up in the pits. In the last three laps Verstappen completes the decisive attack and leads Leclerc off by four seconds.
