Viverone’s mosquitoes sting in Como A double podium at the Bosatta Trophy

VIVERONE

Excellent tests of the Mosquitoes, the crews of the competitive team of the North West Sailing Association of Lake Viverone. The Canavese boys grow up and for the first time conquer the beauty of two podiums of the national regatta held in the waters of Lake Como. It was the Bosatta Trophy. The event was held in Colico on Lake Como, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May.

First place never questioned for the Roncuzzi brothers from Ravenna with five victories in six races, but closely followed throughout the weekend by the Beltrando brothers from Piverone. The boys from Piverone won one test and finished second in all the other five. So they gave a hard time to the people of Ravenna with whom they took turns leading the regattas for the whole weekend.

If the Beltrando brothers had been used to the podium for a couple of years already, this time another crew of Zanzare got the result. This is the Viverone duo formed by Jacopo della Casa and Alberto Deriu. They have thus kept the crews of Lake Como away from the podium that for the first time they do not even place a crew in the top three. This is thanks to a great regularity during the six races: thus they managed to overtake the local crews, who alternated good practice with rear positions.

Confirming the strength of the sailing movement of Lake Viverone, two other crews of the Mosquitoes were present in the Larian waters, the rookies Eloise Acchidda and Sara Pittoni and the more experienced Gabriele Motta paired with Marco Bertollo, also delayed due to a collision with the Slovakian crew involved in a disastrous capsizing (overturning) at the buoy. –
