In the patrol of the Pavia teams, after the first round of the championship, only Voghe rejoices, victorious in extremis on the Alcione; Varzi and Pavia divided the stakes in the Chiappano challenge, while the Accademia Pavese ended up knocked out on the pitch of Club Milano.
High morale, therefore, at the Rossoneri’s home after the happy debut in the new tournament of Excellence, thanks to the home success caught in the final match with the well-equipped Alcione. La Voghe shone for defensive attention, and spirit of sacrifice in the presence of an opponent of high technical caliber, made up of many interpreters from higher categories. The Milanese team led the game from the point of view of ball possession and territorial supremacy, but never managed to seriously worry the Rossoneri goalkeeper De Toni.
«We had five important players among the unavailable, and during the match we lost another four due to injuries. Despite these adversities, the team has shown desire, hunger and the ability to suffer against a high-level opponent, with this spirit we will be able to do excellent things. I think the fans should be proud of these guys ”, underlines the patron Oreste Cavaliere. The Rossoneri coach Andrea Martignoni agrees, full of praise for the team: «The boys were exceptional. We have worked a lot on the defensive line since the first days of preparation, and the results have been seen. It wasn’t easy not to concede even a shot on goal to a valuable team like Alcione, but everyone applied themselves well ». Martignoni then highlights the motivational component that stimulated the group: «In the forecasts, they consider us last or penultimate, but we want to show that we are worth more than what is said around. This victory should not exalt us too much, we remain humble and with our feet on the ground, then in 3-4 games we will see where we will be ». The Rossoneri coach is aware that Voghe can grow a lot, especially in the development of the attacking maneuver: «We have to do more in the attacking phase, moving the ball faster and attacking the goal better. The recovery of the injured, like Dervishi, and the improvement of the condition of players like Tettamanti and Bollini will also help us a lot. The two weeks of work that await us before the next match will be useful in this sense ».
Macaluso, long stop
Injured chapter: the longest stop will be up to the young Macaluso, due to the fracture of the talus, the foot bone connected to the tibia and fibula. Nothing serious for Gabrielli and Tettamanti, who came out with slight ailments, but recoverable for the match on 25 April, with Voghe engaged on the field of Settimo. –
