The Vogherese coach Paolo Tomasoni says he is sorry for the stinging criticism made by the patron Oreste Cavaliere after the draw on the ground of Gavirate, but he believes in the goodness of the work undertaken in these two months and asks only for a little time.
«I do not deny that certain statements have embittered me, but the president has the right to express his ideas and I do not allow myself to comment on his thoughts. I believe that the team is constantly growing in terms of performance and has collected less than it deserved. At the level of cohesion, discipline and work culture, the whole group is responding well. I am very happy to be able to coach this team, all the boys listen and apply themselves with dedication. The work we started in August, together with the collaborators, is bringing constant benefits and progress. It is true that results for now have not rewarded us for what we have done, but we are only on the third day, the season is very long ».
Regarding the owner’s specific notes on the game module and the changes, Tomasoni explains his choices: «I respect the words of the president, but I want to specify that all the decisions I make are functional to enhance the characteristics of our players in the best possible way. I gave everyone the opportunity to be able to demonstrate their qualities and after having carefully evaluated, I made my decisions, always based on what I see every day on the field. What gives me confidence in the future are the improvements that the team is showing game after game, and it must also be said that we have never had the full squad, but I am not one who seeks excuses ».
The pressures that hang on his bench, and the specters of a potential exemption, do not disturb Tomasoni: «I am not conditioned in the least, I have been training for many years and I know the dynamics of football well. I believe in what we are doing together with my staff, of collaborators, and I see a compact team that follows me and listens. I have a very good relationship with all the players, with whom I speak and compare myself daily. If we analyze the three league games, in the Pavia derby we lost at the last minute due to an unclear episode. With Vergiatese, which I think is an excellent team, we drew by playing a good match and on Sunday on the Gavirate field we created a lot and deserved to win, unfortunately we were overtaken by a feat of the opponents two minutes from 90 ‘. Then there were the victories with Sant’Angelo and Varzi in the Italian Cup which allowed us to access the second round of the competition, always with a rather uncapped squad ».
On the transfer market, the name of the striker Romano, formerly OltreVoghe and Varzi, now at the Academy, remains topical.
