Voghera for two years without a bowling green Piero Mutti’s appeal

The former champion. «We need a space for fans» The project to realize it at the Auser is proceeding slowly

VOGHERA

Two years without a bowling green. Voghera, now the former provincial capital of the “raffa”, home to champions such as Armando Rovati, Enzo Guagnini, Marco Binda, the unforgettable Romano Scampoli, Pierino Rosada, Serafino Gatti and many others, laments this lack that forces fans to emigrate to Casteggio or in other localities in the surrounding area, from Corvino to Viguzzolo, equipped with a system. How long will it last? Piero Mutti, himself an excellent player and former federal manager, as well as head of the local Fib committee, launches an appeal: “Our city – he says – needs a space that constitutes a point of reference for bowling fans. the closure of the Vogherese Sports Center (CSV) in via Toscana are entitled to a structure with at least a couple of playing lanes. Perhaps the time has come for the municipal administration and the managers of the provincial Fib delegation to identify an area in which to build a suitable plant as soon as possible “.

In reality, this area has already been identified, at the Auser, between the Dagradi municipal swimming pool and the Parisi stadium: a general plan provides for the creation of a semi-covered structure with two-three lanes for the raffa specialty, a space reserved for the petanque and an additional portion of land for disabled athletes of the Paralympic bowl. The hypothesis was recently examined in a series of meetings promoted by the deputy mayor Simona Virgilio with the Fib delegate, Matteo Stefanone, and the Auser president, Carla Mogolino. “We are extremely in favor of this solution – underlines Stefanone – It is now a question of evaluating its feasibility”. At the moment, there does not seem to be an evaluation of times and costs, even if the necessary resources could come from private financiers and through public tenders. On paper, a couple of months could be enough to complete the work, but the plan does not appear to be easy to implement until the Auser is a vaccination hub. Although news on this front may already be in the next few weeks. –
