Rome, 24 June 2021 – The African heat on Italy. On the weekend the anticyclonic shield will guarantee once again stable weather conditions throughout the Mediterranean basin, although on Sunday a depression vortex in transit in the heart of Europe could cause violent showers and thunderstorms on the Alps and Prealps. At the same time, in the Center-North it will be necessary to deal with thermometers usually around 35-37 degrees, in contrast to what will happen in the South, where temperatures will decrease slightly (but let’s not expect coolness).
Hailstorm
Amid the heat that does not give respite, in the vain wait for a drop in temperatures, there are some strong thunderstorms that, locally, could become hailstorm between afternoon and evening today. According to 3BMeteo at risk there are “upper Piedmont and upper Lombardy, especially Verbano, Varesotto, upper Lario and Valchiavenna”. The phenomena could extend to “Cuneo, Turin, Novarese and Vercellese, then up to the medium-high Lombard plains between Lomellina, Brianza, Milanese and Bergamasco, the high plains of the Veneto (especially between Treviso and the upper Venetian) and of Friuli, especially the west “.
