AURONZO
Auronzo is preparing to re-embrace the international speed canoe competition, scheduled on the waters of Lake Santa Caterina from 2 to 4 July. The very classic crosses the finish line of the fortieth edition for the happiness of the approximately 600 athletes who will take part in it, coming from seven countries. The following categories are competing: under 16, junior, senior, master and paracanoa, prelude to the great event of the under 23 world championships scheduled, again in Auronzo, in 2023. Three distances in the program: one thousand meters, five hundred and 200 with batteries, semifinals and finals. It starts on Friday 2 July with the 1000 meters, Saturday 3 July will be the turn of the 500 meters while on Sunday 4 July the grand final with the 200 meters. Despite the limitations imposed by the Covid protocol, the event will see the successful format that has always characterized the race confirmed. speed canoe international of Auronzo in which Team Italy will participate again this year.
In the meantime, registrations have officially closed to the satisfaction of the organizing committee which, as usual, is part of the Venice Canoe & Dragon Boat sports association.
Still on the subject of the organizing committee, great care has been dedicated to welcoming foreign clubs and teams, both in terms of accommodation and technical assistance but above all health care: guaranteed 800 quick tampons that will be used to manage both races and both travel, pre and post event.
Already today the stretch of water of Lake Santa Caterina affected by the event will begin to be populated with the preparation and assembly of the competition field. The first participating teams are expected to arrive from Wednesday. The fortieth edition of the international canoe competition will record a novelty compared to previous editions: foreign teams will be able to participate with their athletes. Until 2019, the year of the last edition held, foreign crews could compete only as national representatives. –
